Everett "Jim" Kiehna's Obituary
Everett "Jim" Kiehna, age 85, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away at 11:52 p.m., on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at Friendship Manor, Nashville, IL.
Jim was born on December 23, 1938 in Perry County, IL, a son to August W. and Alma J. (West) Kiehna. On November 22, 1958, he married Martha Jane Tanner at the First Baptist Church in Pinckneyville, IL and she preceded him in death on March 17, 2024, after 65 years of marriage. He worked at Decca Records for two years, a coal miner at Consolidated Mines for 27 years, and at Red Hawk Golf Club. He honorably served his country working as a Military Policeman in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Jim was of the Southern Baptist faith and a member at Red Hawk Golf Course. He loved to follow all sports and was an avid and skilled golfer himself. Jim was a dedicated husband to his loving wife Jane and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his brother, Dean Kiehna of Pinckneyville, IL; and lots of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two sisters, Norma Hlinovsky and Minnie Furlow; one brother, Russell Kiehna; and one nephew, Dow "Beno" Dunn.
Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday, October 28, 2024 at 11:00 a.m., with Brother Ted Clark officiating. Interment will be at Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Military honors will be performed by the Presswood-Daffron American Legion Post 2504 and the United States Army.
Visitation will be at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Mueller Hill Cemetery Association.
