Eugene Haywood, Jr., age 70, of Valier, IL and Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 in Pinckneyville Health Care, Pinckneyville, IL. Eugene was born on March 5, 1941 in Valier, IL, a son to Eugene Victor and Juanita (Kiem) Haywood. He was married to Alma Bradley. He was a self-employed laborer and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his friends and family. Survivors include his wife, Alma Haywood of Benton, IL; a brother, Tom (Linda) Haywood of Christopher, IL; a sister, Audrey Patton of Sesser, IL; two nieces, Missie (Greg) Deford of Pinckneyville, IL and Melissa Ramaker of DuQuoin, IL; a nephew, Mike (Diane) Wingo of Sesser, IL; and several cousins and great-niece and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandmother, Bertha Haywood; and stepmother, Doris Haywood. Eugene's wishes were for his body to be donated to the SIU School of Medicine, Carbondale, IL. Interment will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery, Sesser, IL at a later date. The family would extend their sincerest appreciation to VNA Tip Hospice and Pinckneyville Health Care and any memorial donations may be made to VNA Tip Hospice or Pinckneyville Health Care. Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL is in charge of arrangements.
