Ethel Elizabeth "Libby" Sheff's Obituary
Ethel Elizabeth "Libby" Sheff, age 84, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away at 3:58 p.m. on Sunday, October 26, 2008 in Pinckneyville Community Hospital, Pinckneyville, IL. Libby was born on July 19, 1924 in Pinckneyville, IL, a daughter to Francis and Wilma (Stout) Newsom. She married Charles R. Sheff on March 26, 1955 and he preceded her in death on May 12, 1987. She was a member of Beaucoup Baptist Church in Pinckneyville, IL, owned and operated Libby's Restaurant during the 1940's, and worked as a nurse's aid at Pinckneyville Community Hospital. Libby enjoyed playing bingo, going to auctions, visiting state parks, tending to her flower garden, and was an Avon representative for many years. Libby is survived by two sons: Michael E. Worley of Pinckneyville, IL and Randall P. (Doris) Worley of Scheller, IL, two daughters: Deanna (Paul) Miller of Pinckneyville, IL, and Karen (Fred) Schwartzkopf of San Marcus, CA, one sister: Wain Bird of Tamaroa, IL, seventeen grandchildren, twenty- three great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Libby was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one son: Robert Worley, one daughter: Donna Worley in infancy two sisters, two brothers, one grandson: Jason Schwartzkopf and one great-grandson: Raymond Marcus Worley. Funeral Services will be held at Beaucoup Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Mark Lee officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and again on Thursday at Beaucoup Baptist Church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association, American Kidney Fund, or Alzheimer's Association.
