Ethel McCune's Obituary
Ethel Lora McCune, age 93, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. in Sparta Community Hospital, Sparta, IL. Ethel was born on September 15, 1922 in Winkle, IL, a daughter to Albert and Lora (Davis) Wright. On November 28, 1942, she married Earl McCune in Perryville, Mo and he preceded her in death on June 15, 1983. Ethel was a member of Concord Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL and was a machine operator at the Pinckneyville Garment Factory, Pinckneyville, IL and Bridal Originals, DuQuoin, IL for 32 years. She enjoyed quilting and sewing. Ethel loved taking care of children and was known for her infectious smile. Survivors include foster grandchild, Bobby (Angela) Kiefer; three foster great-grandchildren, Cody, Autumn and Rheanna; sister-in-law, Barb (Don) Horn of Ottawa, IL and numerous dear nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl McCune; daughter, Lora McCune and fifteen brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at Concord Baptist Church, Rice, IL on Monday, June 27, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with Brother Gary Pate officiating. Interment will be in Hopewell Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Concord Baptist Church, Rice, IL on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Hopewell Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
