Erla Beth Lacy's Obituary
Erla Beth Lacy, age 74, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at 9:15 a.m. in St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, MO.
Erla was born on May 1, 1948 in DuQuoin, IL, a daughter to William Fredrick and Helen Louise (Borman) Hoffman. On November 11, 1967, she married Johnnie Leroy Lacy at Holts Prairie Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL and he survives. She had worked in accounting for H.F. and A.F. Reese, Pinckneyville, IL for around 40 years. Erla was a member of New Hope Community Church, Pinckneyville, IL. She enjoyed reading, especially mystery novels, history, visiting old houses, and shopping. Erla also enjoyed traveling and had been to all of the states east of the Mississippi, 15 states west of the Mississippi, and on 3 cruises.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Johnnie Leroy Lacy of Pinckneyville, IL; a son, Chris (Tammy) Lacy of Pinckneyville, IL; a daughter, Dawn (JJ) Zmudzinski of Elkhorn, NE; a brother, William (Jeanette) Hoffman, Jr. of Pinckneyville, IL; seven grandchildren, Tim Zmudzinski, Zach Zmudzinski, Karri Lacy, Nathan Lacy, Kyle Mathis, Mike (Darrah) Mathis, and Kate Brammeier; four great-grandchildren, Emersyn, Easton, Abel, and Axton; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at New Hope Community Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday, September 30, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor James Clardy officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
Visitation will be at New Hope Community Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday morning at the church from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Julius Morar Missionary (checks can be made out to New Hope Community Church).
