Emma Magerkurth's Obituary
Emma Magerkurth, age 81, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at 2:15 a.m. in Friendship Manor Health Center, Nashville, IL. Emma was born on November 10, 1927 in Rice, IL, a daughter to Ira Emmit and Myrtle (Hill) Jones. On October 9, 1948, she married Richard Magerkurth in Pinckneyville, IL and he preceded her in death on June 28, 2008. Emma was a member of Concord Baptist Church, Rice, IL and worked at a Decca Records in Pinckneyville, IL for 13 years. She loved quilting and gardening and listening to country music with her husband Richard. Emma is survived by one son: Ray Magerkurth of Willisville, IL, two daughters: Margie (Jim) Stevenson of Pinckneyville, IL and Nancy (Mick) Brewner of DuQuoin, IL, three brothers: Bob (Becky) Jones of Belleville, IL, Jack (Faye) Jones of Rice, IL and Rick (Mary) Jones of Pinckneyville, IL, five grandchildren: Jason and Chad Magerkurth, Jerid and Jamey Stevenson, and Dusty Mansfield, six great-grandchildren: Trystin, Timbra, Lauren, Audrey, Trevor, and Braden and numerous dear nieces, nephews cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, nine sisters: Pauline Willis, May Hubler, Anna Hubler, Ollie Thomas, Irene Mize, Evelyn Scott, Lenora Wiles, Roberta and Mildred Jones in infancy, and three brothers: Earl, Roy and Amos Jones. Funeral services will be held at Concord Baptist Church, Rice, IL on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Tom Spiller and Pastor Clyde Dempsay officiating. Interment will be in Concord Baptist Cemetery, Rice, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday at the church from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Memorials may be made to Concord Baptist Church, Rice, IL. or Friendship Manor Health Center, Nashville, IL.
