Elsie Jean Logan's Obituary
Elsie Jean Logan, age 101, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 10:46 a.m., in Pinckneyville Community Hospital, Pinckneyville, IL.
Elsie was born on July 16, 1924 in the Jamestown area of Perry County, IL, a daughter to Henry and Julia (Verman) Taylor. She married George “Jack” Logan on June 21, 1952, in Pinckneyville and he preceded her in death on June 12, 1997. She was a homemaker and a member of the New Hope Community Church, Pinckneyville IL and the local senior citizens group. Elsie was well known for her volunteer work at Pinckneyville Health Care, Pinckneyville Community Hospital Skilled Care Unit, and Manor at Mason Woods. She also helped with community blood drives and with meals on wheels. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna Jeane Wilder of Pinckneyville, IL; a son, Dana George Logan of Pinckneyville, IL; a granddaughter, Shelley Wilder of Pinckneyville, IL; two sisters, Gloria Thies of Benton, KY and Ruth Ann Shute of Pinckneyville, IL; five fur grandbabies, Harper, Wynston, Paxtyn, Oliver, and Nevaeh; and numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, brother, John Taylor and Floyd Taylor in infancy; and two sisters, Fern Walker and Shirley Mae Williams.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 12:00 p.m., in New Hope Community Church, Pinckneyville, IL with Pastor James Clardy officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at New Hope Community Church, Pinckneyville, IL.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Alzheimer’s Association.
