Elsie T. Blair's Obituary
Elsie T. Blair, age 91, of Pinckneyville, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2006 at 9:50 p.m. in Pinckneyville Healthcare Center. Elsie was born to Ferd and Stella (Manda) Thornton on June 23, 1915 in Pinckneyville. She married Walter A. Blair on May 18, 1935 in Pinckneyville and he preceded her in death on July 18, 1980. She was a member for over 70 years of the First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, a member for over 50 years and past matron of the Eastern Star, a member of the W.M.U. and Helen Sherer Circle, and a member of Royal Neighbors. Survivors include one daughter: Marsha Kostman of Murphysboro, one son: Jeff Blair of Pinckneyville, one brother: Ardell Thornton of Herrin, two sisters: Deanna Anderson of Washington, IL and Augusta Thomas of Pinckneyville, four grandchildren: Valerie, Gregory, Glenda and Hailey, and three great-grandchildren: Carlene, Nathan, and Leah. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter: Ann, one granddaughter: Terri Lynn, two brothers: Herschel and Berthel Thornton, and three sisters: Edna Harriss, Mable Livingston, and Geraldine McDonnough. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville on Friday, December 22, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend Charles Boling officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, DuQuoin, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 8:00 a.m. until the time of services. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
