Elizabeth "Betty" Jane Clutts' Obituary
Elizabeth "Betty" Jane (Fike) Clutts, age 100, of Coulterville, IL passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2023 in Sparta, IL, at her daughter's residence.
Betty was born on May 2, 1923 in Coulterville, IL, a daughter to Fred and Althea (Curnutt) Fike. She married Clyde Clutts on October 9, 1945 in Piggott, AR, and he preceded her in death on April 28, 1982. She was a member of Royal Neighbors of America. She worked for many years at Spartan Printing until her retirement. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, taking trips to Tunica, MS, and playing cards. She loved her vacations to Panama City Beach, FL and attended numerous events at the Sparta Senior Center.
Survivors include one son, Fred (Rita) Clutts of Stillwater, OK; two daughters, Ruth Nutt of Meansville, GA and Peggy Bowlby of Sparta, IL; twelve grandchildren, Fred (Cathy) Clutts, Jr., Julie (Richard Howie) Clutts, Laura (Danny) Schaffer, Lisa (Steve) Reitz, Brenda Ford, Paula (Craig) Cunningham, James D. Bowlby, Nancy Manzullo, Jeff (Jane) Bowlby, Kathy (Rusty) Loucks, Shari (Michael) Yankey, and Lisa (Marc) Stirnaman; 30 great-grandchildren; 36 great-great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clyde; one daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl Lynn and Sam Franklin; two sons-in-law, Claude Nutt and Jim Bowlby; four brothers, Albert, Keith, Favre, and Bill Fike; three sisters, Dorothy Wise, Clarice Batson, and Colleen Young; and grandson-in-law, Vitto Manzullo.
Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Monday, October 2, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Paul Hahn officiating. Interment will be in Coulterville City Cemetery, Coulterville, IL.
Visitation will be at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Betty's memory to Coulterville V.F.W. Post 6865 Auxiliary or Sparta Senior Center.
