Edward "Eddie" Burnett's Obituary
Edward "Eddie" Ray Burnett, age 76, of Coulterville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 12:31 p.m. in his home.
Eddie was born on January 4, 1946 in Rock Springs, WY, a son to Herbert Lloyd and Elizabeth Ann (Hill) Burnett. He honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. Eddie was a member of Calvary Church, Sparta, IL. He was self-employed Custom hay and straw broker for over 30 years. Eddie was a member of the Grand Cote Cruisers Car Club and the Paralyzed Veterans Association. He was a funny man who was known for telling jokes and enjoyed working on cars. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his two sons, Darrell (Marilyn) Burnett of Arlington, TN and Curtis Brandon Burnett of Maryland Heights, MO; two daughters, Dawn Mavers of Hoyleton, IL and Laura (Neal) Gramenz of Steeleville, IL; two brothers, Robert James Burnett of Belleville, IL and Harry Leroy (Irma) Burnett of Morton, IL; a sister, Alberta Woodside; a sister-in-law, Sue Burnett of Sparta, IL; eleven grandchildren, Mason, Analiese and Bethany Burnett, Aja Mavers, Jaylan Burnett, Weston Burnett, Easton Burnett, and Amber, Ashli and Jessa Gramenz; and one great-grandchild, Adrian Jaimet.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Arlene Hackworth; and three brothers, David Eugene Burnett, Herbert Roy Burnett, and Lloyd Roger Burnett.
Funeral services will be held at Calvary Church, Sparta, IL on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Tim McIntyre officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
Visitation will be at Calvary Church, Sparta, IL on Monday, January 2, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday morning at the church from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Paralyzed Veterans Gateway Chapter or to the Calvary Church.
