Edna "Eileen" Taft's Obituary
Edna "Eileen" Taft, age 85, of Oakdale, IL, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at 6:35 p.m. in Friendship Manor, Nashville, IL. Eileen was born on July 6, 1928 in Oakdale, IL, a daughter to James Todd and Elizabeth (Hoeppner) Fox. On January 3, 1948, she married David Nelson Taft and he preceded her in death after 40 years of marriage on March 5, 1989. She was a member of the Oakdale United Presbyterian Church, Oakdale, IL. She was a homemaker and had worked as a teacher's aide and was very active at Oakdale Grade School for many years. She enjoyed quilting with the Oakdale Community and watching her family play sports but her greatest love was spending time with her family. Survivors include her two daughters, Debra Lou (Ed) McKinstry of Nashville, IL and Polly (Charlie) Bahre of Oakdale, IL; a son, Allen David (Sandra) Taft of Oakdale, IL; a brother, Wilbur (Irene) Fox of Oakdale, IL; eight grandchildren, Alison (Shawn) Buckingham, Megan (Will) Reinburg, Ryan (Dani) McKinstry, Nathan McKinstry, Justin (Yolanda) Bahre, Dori Bahre, Zachary (Denise) Taft and Laura (Jimmy) Leonard, ; twelve great-grandchildren, Merrick Buckingham, Everret Buckingham, Trey Reinburg, Tyse Reinburg, Teagan Reinburg, Joshua Smith, Samantha Bahre, Bailey Bahre, Kailee Remer, Lilly Taft, Cade Leonard and Jase Leonard; and one great-great-granddaughter, Skylar Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Funeral services will be held at Oakdale United Presbyterian Church, Oakdale, IL on Friday, August 23, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend John Campbell and Reverend Phil Carson officiating. Interment will be in Oakdale Cemetery, Oakdale, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Oakdale, IL on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday at the funeral home from 7:30 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. then at the Oakdale United Presbyterian Church, Oakdale, IL from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the activity department at Friendship Manor, Nashville, IL.
