Edna E. Bailey's Obituary
Edna E. Bailey, age 98, of DuQuoin, IL, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 5:20 a.m., in DuQuoin Nursing and Rehabilitation, DuQuoin, IL.
Edna was born on March 2, 1927 in DuQuoin, IL, a daughter to John and Mary (Poiter) Eisenhauer. On November 16, 1950, she married Dale A. Bailey at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, DuQuoin, IL, and he preceded her in death on June 22, 1988. Edna was a member at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Sacred Heart Catholic Daughters. For over 50 years she was a staple at the DuQuoin State Bank until her retirement as the Assistant Vice President. Edna truly enjoyed volunteering in her community and was a board member at the DuQuoin Public Library. She was part of the Marshall Browning Hospital Auxiliary, American Cancer Society, and was the recipient of Joe E. Weber DuQuoin Fan Award in 2014. She loved playing golf and cards with her friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include two children, Allen Dale "Beatle" (Rebecca) Bailey of Vergennes, IL and Carol Ann (David) Collins of DuQuoin, IL; one brother, Eugene (Nancy) Eisenhauer of Herrin, IL; five grandchildren, Leslie (Aaron) Cowley, Darren (Amber) Zoller; Jonathon Bailey, Stevie (Quinton) Mathis, and Jeff (Michelle) Collins; and six great-grandchildren, Bailey Cowley, Brenna Cowley, Aydan Zoller, Parker Bailey, Rylee Mathis, and Wesley Mathis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Dorothy Eisenhauer Hardiman; one brother, John Edward Eisenhauer; and one grandson, Jimmy Collins.
A funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, DuQuoin, IL on Monday, March 24, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., with Father Brian Barker officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, DuQuoin, IL.
Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the DuQuoin Public Library.
