Edna E. Davison's Obituary
Mrs. Edna E. Davison, 89, of DuQuoin, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2009 in Pinckneyville Health Care Center. She was born on November 25, 1919 in DuQuoin to Edward H. and Maude B. (Rentfro) Broyles. She married Thomas E. Davison, Sr. March 2, 1941 at Cape Girardeau, MO. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years on February 29, 2004. She was a lifelong member of First Christian Church of DuQuoin, where for many years she headed the Benevolence Committee, providing meals for grieving families. For many years she operated Davison Market. She also worked with her husband in Pinckneyville running Davison Tractor and Equipment. Her family was very important to her and she loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed flower gardening and embroidery work. She left many finished pieces to be enjoyed by her family. Survivors include four daughters, Carolyn (Roy) Smith, DuQuoin; Shirley (Ray) Weisel, Tamaroa; Cynthia (Alan) Pearsall, DuQuoin; Karen (Lyle) Buser, DuQuoin; one stepson, Thomas E. (Janis) Davison, Jr., DuQuoin. Grandchildren - Christi (Doug) Mathis, Pinckneyville; Roy A. "Smitty" (Angela) Smith, Irvington; Brad (Deanna) Weisel, Carterville; Eric (Elizabeth) Weisel, Tamaroa; Evin Pearsall, Kansas City, MO; Megan (Joe) Holtz, DuQuoin. She was also survived by ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Dorothy Jacoby, DuQuoin; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy, her parents, brothers Paul Broyles, Earl Broyles, Victor Neal in childhood, Bartley Dean in infancy and great-granddaughter Kimber Weisel. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Mike Stallard officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, DuQuoin. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin on Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Heaven Bound Ministries or Luke Memorial Hospice.
