Edith A. Edie's Obituary
Edith A. Edie, age 94, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2020 at 3:32 a.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital, Pinckneyville, IL.
Edith was born on February 4, 1926 in Perry County, IL, a daughter to Raymond and Ann (Siebert) Marlow. On October 1, 1946, Edith married Leslie M. Edie in Pinckneyville, IL. He preceded her in death in 1983. She was a homemaker who loved and cherished her family. Edith enjoyed dancing and was known for her cooking especially for her chicken and dumplings. Edith was a member of the St. Bruno Catholic Church and her neighborhood quilting club.
Survivors include five sons, Leonard R. (Penny) Edie of Pinckneyville, IL, Carl D. Edie (Mary Cross) of Murphysboro, IL, Dale E. (Pattie) Edie of Fairbanks, AK, John A. Edie of Coarsegold, CA, and Paul W. Edie of Pinckneyville, IL; one daughter, Beth A. Sizemore of Tamaroa, IL; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and one niece, Margret Hempleman of Chicago, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Tom Edie; one brother, Donald Marlow; and one grandson.
A family mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 3, 2020 at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL with Father Augustine Ibezimako officiating. Interment will be at St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. A webcast video will be available on our Facebook page following the service.
A visitation will be held from 9:00a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 3, 2020 at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the donors choice.
Due to health concerns related to the Covid-19 virus and by the signing of executive order by Governor J.B. Pritzker, Phase Four attendance will be limited to 50 people and social distancing will be enforced.
