Douglas Hal Beever's Obituary
Douglas Hal Beever, age 59, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 12:06 p.m. in his home.
Doug was born on January 30, 1955 in East St. Louis, IL, a son to Elmo E. and Hazel (Friesen) Beever. On July 21, 1973, he married Karen M. Sims in East St. Louis, IL and she survives. He was a member of Old DuQuoin Baptist Church, DuQuoin, IL. Doug was a custodian at Pinckneyville Community High School, an avid Panther fan, former President and coach for the Khoury League and loved spending time with his grandchildren and taking family vacations.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Karen Beever of Pinckneyville, IL; a son, Douglas (Hailey) Beever of Pinckneyville, IL; a daughter, Janet (Jason) Kitchen of Pinckneyville, IL; his mother-in-law, Mary C. Newell of O'Fallon, IL; six brothers and sisters, Jean (David) Myrick, Barbara Kentch, Ellen (Kenny) Cruce, Jack Beever, Elmo "Butch" (Pat) Beever and Larry (Loretta) Beever; five grandchildren, Wesley Cox, Tommi Carpenter, Alaina Beever, Devin Kitchen and Dalton Kitchen; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law, Robert Newell; and seven brothers and sisters, Janet Johnson, Sandra Kassly, Gary Beever, Dixie Beever, Rose Beever, Juanita Huddleston and in infancy, Roseann Beever.
As per Doug's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial service will be held at Old DuQuoin Baptist Church, DuQuoin, IL on Monday, March 17, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Ted Clark officiating.
Friends may call at Old DuQuoin Baptist Church, DuQuoin, IL on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to Old DuQuoin Baptist Church, DuQuoin, IL.
