Dorothy Faye Blakely's Obituary
Dorothy Faye Blakely, age 86, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at 8:44 p.m. in her home.
Dorothy was born on August 8, 1933 in Table Grove, IL, a daughter to Roy and Bessie (Bankes) Gilmore. In 1966, she married Alton Blakely in Golden, CO and he preceded her in death on October 7, 2008. Dorothy had worked for Decca Records as an inspector for five years. She was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL and Catholic daughters. Dorothy Enjoyed watching St. Louis Cardinal baseball and Pinckneyville Panther Basketball. She loved bowling, shopping and spending time with family.
Survivors include her six children, Dianna (Wayne) Chamness of Vergennes, IL, Mark (Connie) Stutes of Pinckneyville, IL, Christina (Gene) Fisher of Pinckneyville, IL, Leigh (Darlene) Blakely of Pepperell, MA, Laura Blakely of Norwalk, CT, and Karen Blakely; fourteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Zelma Rosich of Canton, IL; and one brother, Leon (Deb) Gilmore of Macomb, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Lucille Walton and one brother-in-law, Jerry Rosich.
Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Brian Barker officiating. Interment will be Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
Visitation will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Due to health concerns related to the Covid-19 virus and by the signing of executive order by Governor J.B. Pritzker, Phase Four attendance will be limited to 50 people and social distancing will be enforced.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL and Hospice of Southern Illinois.
