Dorothy Eunice Reith's Obituary
Dorothy "Eunice" Reith, age 98, of Pinckneyville, IL passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2008 at 9:20 a.m. in Pinckneyville Health Care Center, Pinckneyville, IL. Eunice was born on January 9, 1910 in Pinckneyville, IL, a daughter to Rudolph and Myrtle (Quigley) Stahlheber, Sr. On September 8, 1928, she married Oren J. Reith and he preceded her in death after 67 years of marriage on December 26, 1995. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL, Senior Citizens, Pinckneyville, IL, and the Home Extension where she sang with the Home Extension Choir Group and managed their food stand at the DuQuoin Fair. She received a vocational nursing degree from VTI in Carbondale, IL and worked as a nurse for 15 years at Pinckneyville Community Hospital. She enjoyed crocheting and quilting. Survivors include four daughters: Barbara (Gail) Crystal of Lee's Summit, MO, Letha (Melvin) Ferrero of Pinckneyville, IL, Marilyn Brown of Arlington, TX, and Marjorie Reith of Swansea, IL, two brothers: Earl (Betty) Stahlheber of Dongola, IL, and Delbert (Jan) Stahlheber of Rockford, IL, a daughter-in-law: June Reith of Fort Meyers, FL, thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son: Donald Reith, a son-in-law: Royce Brown, six brothers: Rupert Stahlheber , Neal Stahlheber, Paul Stahlheber, Rudy Stahlheber, Rolland Stahlheber, and Thurlow Stahlheber, and a sister: Marjorie Schickedanz. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday, July 21, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Rob Mathis officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and then on Monday from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Baptist Children's Home, Carmi, IL.
