Dora C. Jones' Obituary
Dora C. Jones, age 87, of DuQuoin, IL, went home to be with Jesus on Monday, November 3, 2014 at 3:04 a.m.in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, Carbondale, IL, with her children and grandchildren at her bedside. Dora was born on July 13, 1927 in East St. Louis, IL, a daughter to Joseph and Mary (Wells) Urbain. On June 14, 1942, she married Carl Raymond Jones, Sr. in Perryville, MO and he preceded her in death on July 29, 2008. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, cooking, sewing, crocheting, reading and mostly her puppy, Daisy. Survivors include nine children, Mary Pearl Rogers of Advance, MO, Lydia (Jim) Penson of DuQuoin, IL, Marsha McKinnies of DuQuoin, IL, Carl J. Jones, Jr. of DuQuoin, IL, Clarence (Ruth) Jones of Peoria, IL, Debbie (Wayne) Harris of DuQuoin, IL, Janice Siefert of DuQuoin, IL, June (Donald) Caraway of Murphysboro, IL, and Lisa Dewar of DuQuoin, IL; twenty-six grandchildren, Dashawna Rae Leggans, LeTrevis Rae Hinkle, LaDeanna Rae Farris, Rachel Penson, Jimmy Penson, Dorcas Penson, Kristy Lynn Carter, Johnnie McKinnies, Carl Gregory Jones, Jeremy Jones, Andy Jones, Justin Lyle Roberts, Amber Nicole Maree, Donnie Caraway, Shane Caraway, Josh Caraway, Justin Caraway, Zachary Dewar, Allanna Jones, Tarrissa Litton, Jared Guy Jones, Wayne Dean Harris, Amanda Lucrica Eggemyer, Ashley Michele Leeper, Michael E. Draege, II, and Nicholas CJ Draege; fifty-nine great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends and brothers and sisters in Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; step-father, Lee Cash; two sons-in-law, John McKinnies and Armand Lee Rogers; four grandchildren, Robin Hinkle in infancy, Carlenea Eggers, Darrin Hinkle, and James Matthew Dewar; and two great-grandchildren, Hannah Lynn Carter and Stephen Samuel Lee Carter. Funeral services will be held at the First United Pentecostal Church, DuQuoin, IL on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Dan McKinnies and Reverend C.L. McKinnies officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, DuQuoin, IL. Friends may call at the First United Pentecostal Church, DuQuoin, IL on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday, at the church, from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the family of Dora Jones. Arrangements have been entrusted to Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL.
