Donna L. Kuhnert's Obituary
Donna L. Kuhnert, age 74, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2015 in St. Luke's Hospital, St. Louis, MO. Donna was born on July 16, 1940 in Winkle, IL, a daughter to Carl Baker and Carrie Amelia (Benedict) Harrison. On August 20, 1956, she married Donald L. Kuhnert in Corinth, MS and he survives. Donna was a member of Winkle Baptist Church, Winkle, IL and a longtime office employee of the Regional Office of Education for Perry and Jackson counties until her retirement. She had been the chairwoman of the Democratic Women's Organization for years, served actively on the Democratic Central Committee and was a precise bookkeeper both at work and at home. Donna enjoyed bowling, watching sports, especially baseball and she always made her family her priority, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband; a son, David R. Kuhnert of Pinckneyville, IL; daughter, Terri (Chris) Menz of Town and Country, MO; ten grandchildren, Jason Kuhnert, Josh Kuhnert, Justin Kuhnert, Kristin Shannon, Kara Baker, Lindsay McIntyre, Fallon Moore, Camille Naidoo, Alex Menz And Zach Menz; eighteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Gail Lynn Kuhnert; two brothers, Rich (Marilyn) Harrison of Pinckneyville, IL and Nelson (Judy) Harrison of Shelbyville, KY; one sister, Geneva (Ed) Mossa of OH; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Konnie Kuhnert and Laurie Ann Kuhnert in infancy; one grandson, Lucas Moore and one sister, Doris "Sis" Edwards. Funeral services will be held at Winkle Baptist Church, Winkle, IL on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Jeff Downard officiating. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery, Swanwick, IL. Friends may call at Winkle Baptist Church, Winkle, IL on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Thursday at the church from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to American Diabetes Association or Bethel Cemetery, Swanwick. IL. Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
