Donald Dean Edwards' Obituary
Donald Dean Edwards, age 87, of Coulterville, IL, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 8:25 a.m. in Coulterville Care Center, Coulterville, IL. Dean was born on February 17, 1926 in Swanwick, IL, a son to Grover "Cleve" and Annie (Lowe) Edwards. On March 31, 1951, he married Mary Elizabeth Jones and she preceded him in death on December 31, 1979. On May 9, 1987, he married Anita Doll in Perryville, Mo and she survives. Dean worked for Illinois Central Gulf on the railroad, retiring after 38 years and was a veteran of the United States Army, proudly serving his country during WW II. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Percy, IL and ministered at the Fairview Baptist Church from 1974 to 1981, Bethel Church from 1984 to1986 and Calvary Baptist Church in Perryville, MO from 1991 to 1996. Survivors include his wife, Anita Edwards of Coulterville, IL; one brother, Ora (Dorothy) Edwards of Evansville, IL; one sister, Daisy French of Gardner, IL and many dear nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; an infant son; four brothers, Vernon Edwards, Robert Edwards, Delmer Edwards and on brother in infancy, Grover Cleveland; and five sisters, Fern Burris, Betty Lou Edwards, Hilda Edwards, Viola Kocian and Loyce Jones Knope. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Terry Jackson officiating. Interment will be in Coulterville City Cemetery, Coulterville, IL. Military graveside service will be provided by Coulterville V.F.W. Post #6865. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the family of Dean Edwards or Coulterville Care Center, Coulterville, IL.
