Donald Ray Clark's Obituary
Donald Ray Clark, age 79, of Pinckneyville, IL, formerly of Granite City, IL, passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 9:00 p.m. in Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Marion, IL. Donald was born on April 4, 1933 in Murphysboro, IL, a son to Jack and Nellie (Morefield) Clark. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and Army serving during the Korean War. On September 5, 1989, he married Marie M. Young in Wickliff, KY and she survives. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Survivors include his wife, Marie Clark of Granite City, IL; two stepsons, Jerry Flare of DuQuoin, IL and Larry Flare of St. Louis, MO; two stepdaughters, Pamela (Clarence) VanHoorebeke of DuQuoin, IL and Ethel Keener in the military; a sister, Imogene Johnson of Granite City, IL; two nephews, Alan Johnson and Larry Johnson; six step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a baby brother, Armin Clark. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday, November 23, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Rob Mathis officiating. Interment will be in Cutler Cemetery, Cutler, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
