Dolores Odell Cook's Obituary
Dolores Odell Cook, age 89, of St Charles, MO passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2018 at 4:46 a.m. at Windsor Estates, St. Charles, MO.
Dolores was born July 22, 1929, in Oakdale, IL, the daughter of Ardell and Bessie V. (Arnett) Malott. She married Ralph Paul Cook on August 30, 1947 in Coulterville, IL and he preceded her in death on February 8, 2004. Dolores attended school in Coulterville, IL and was a seamstress for 25 years. She was a member of Coulterville First United Methodist Church where she was actively involved. She was a Sunday school teacher, enjoyed singing in the choir, and helped serve in the kitchen. She was treasurer of the mission fund and helped establish and maintain the church sponsored thrift store. She was a member of bowling leagues in Sparta and Pinckneyville, played softball, and was a lifelong Cardinals fan. She loved cooking, baking, and spending time with her family. Her house was always full of company. She touched the lives of so many; she will be greatly missed.
Survivors include three children, Susan P. (Robert) Bruce of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Kristi K. (Gary) Orto of Newbern, TN and Danette D. (Gary) Craig of St Charles, MO; a daughter-in-law, Evelyn Cook of Tilden, IL; two brothers, Gene Malott of Coulterville, IL and Jim (Amy) Malott of Tilden, IL; ten grandchildren, Jeremy Cook, Robert and Ryan Bruce, Hollie Wilkerson, Tara Ratliff, Jeffrey and Jarrad Cook, Emily Medley, Chelsey Beavers and Ashley Craig; and eight great-grandchildren, Joshua Cook, Lorien, Laithan, and Kylin Wilkerson, Addyson and Asher Medley, Alaina Cook and Teagan Bruce.
She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 56 years, Paul Cook; one son, Larry Paul Cook; infant daughter, Carol Sue Cook; and five brothers.
Funeral services will be held at Coulterville United Methodist Church, Coulterville, IL on Friday, November 30, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Doug Stewart officiating. Interment will be in Coulterville City Cemetery, Coulterville, IL.
Visitation will be held at Coulterville United Methodist Church, Coulterville, IL on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Memorials may be made to the Coulterville United Methodist Church.
