Dixie Phillips' Obituary
Dixie Phillips, age 86, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2021 at 5:10 p.m. in Pinckneyville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Dixie was born on April 16, 1935 in Pinckneyville, IL, a daughter to Adam and Nellie (Jones) Phillips. She worked for the dietary department for the Pinckneyville Hospital and owned and operated Luke's Café, Dixie and Cal's and Bud and Caroline's restaurant. Dixie was of the Baptist faith and as a child attended Roes Dale Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL with her mother and father. She was a great cook. She enjoyed flower gardening, sewing, playing bingo, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include one daughter, Patti Ann Folden of Pinckneyville, IL; three grandchildren, Gina Montgomery of Pinckneyville, IL, Corey Folden, and Joanna Folden both of Chicago; and several nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Russell Folden, two brothers, Jim Phillips and Elmer Phillips; one sister, Kathryn Bird.
Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Thursday April 29, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Rob Mathis officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
Visitation will be at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Thursday April 29, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Due to the covid-19 virus, social distancing will be enforced and all attendees are asked to wear a mask.
