Dennis R. "Denny" Nehrkorn, age 60, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 12:42 a.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital Emergency Room, Pinckneyville, IL. Dennis was born on September 23, 1955 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to Robert D. "Bob" and Mildred R. "Midge" (Margenthaler) Nehrkorn. On April 25, 1986, he married Patricia "Trisha" Hanson in Fort Kaskaskia, IL and she survives. He was a carpenter for 35 years and worked for 15 years with the Carpenters Union Local 636, Mt Vernon, IL. He was of the Baptist faith, a member of Carpenters Union Local 636, Mt. Vernon, IL and loved playing guitar and basketball. He had coached the District 204 Grade School basketball team to a championship, coached little league and loved spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Patricia "Trisha" Nehrkorn of Pinckneyville, IL; his mother, Mildred "Midge" Nehrkorn of Pinckneyville, IL; a son, Dustin (Jill E.) Nehrkorn of DuQuoin, IL; a daughter, Cassidy (Todd M.) Carns of Pinckneyville, IL; a brother, Doug (Susan) Nehrkorn of Pinckneyville, IL; a sister, Donna (Roger) Hayes of Paducah, KY; two grandchildren, Charlee Rae Nehrkorn and Bryson Dean Carns; and seven nieces and nephews, Chris (Stephanie) Hayes, Jared (Kandi) Hayes, Sarah (John) Wilson, Carolyn (Gary) Gaudio, Greg Nehrkorn, Winston Bell and Justin (Stevie) Holmes. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert D. "Bob" Nehrkorn. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday, May 2, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Campbell Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday at the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the family.
