Denise Carol Rushing's Obituary
Denise C. Rushing, age 47, of Marissa, IL, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 12:38 p.m. in Sparta Community Hospital, Sparta, IL. Denise was born on February 5, 1966 in Chester, IL, a daughter to William C. and Darlene (Stueve) Davis. On February 14, 1987, she married Gregory E. Rushing in Tri-County Pentecostal Church, Cutler, IL and he survives. Denise was a faithful member of Calvary Church, Sparta, IL where she was a Team Kids teacher and taught at Marissa Unit District #40 for more than 22 years, most recently as an elementary reading specialist. She enjoyed cooking, crafting and painting. Denise was a devoted teacher and maintained a close relationship with her students. She was a loving wife and mother and dearly loved spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her husband, Gregory Rushing; two children, Nicholas E. Rushing and Hannah Lee Rushing all of Marissa, IL; mother, Darlene Davis of Percy, IL; one brother, William R. Davis of Steeleville, IL; four sisters, Debbie (Larry) Dauer of Perryville, MO, Donna Dagner of Percy, IL, Diane 'Susie" (Don) Jones of Percy, IL, Dana "Patti" (Howard) Warren of Percy, IL; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Josie Rushing of Marissa, IL; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Grant (Rebecca) Rushing of Reeseville, WS; numerous nieces; nephews and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father and brother-in-law, Dale Dagner. Funeral services will be held at Calvary Church, Sparta, IL on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Tim McIntyre officiating. Interment will be in Percy City Cemetery, Percy, IL. Friends may call at Calvary Church, Sparta, IL on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to Calvary Church Family Life Center Kitchen. Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
