Delbert L. Campbell's Obituary
Delbert L. Campbell, age 90, of Coulterville, IL, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at 2:14 a.m. in Hendersonville Medical Center, Hendersonville, TN. Delbert was born on September 2, 1920 in Randolph County, IL, a son to Verne and Blanche (Hemphill) Campbell. On January 22, 1942, he married Nellie Campbell in St. Louis, MO and she preceded him in death on December 19, 2009. Delbert was a farmer for 22 years, worked as a coal miner for Captain Mine, retiring after 25 years, served on the Coulterville City Council and was a member of the Mason's, Sparta, IL Chapter. He enjoyed woodworking, tinkering and taking care of his yard. He is survived by one son, Mark (Lonna) Campbell of Gallatin, TN; three grandchildren, Melissa Campbell, Christine Marcoux, and Greg Wilson; three great-grandchildren, Clinton and Nellie Wilson, and John Marcoux; two sisters, Pearl (Don) Lucy of Delta, CO and Louis McConkey of Chester, IL; and numerous nieces; nephews; and cousins He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Florence Brazelton; five brothers, Lester, Alvin, Willard, Paul, and Kenneth Campbell; and one brother-in-law, Roy McConkey. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Doctor Dennis Hamilton officiating. Interment will be in Coulterville City Cemetery, Coulterville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in care of Terrace at Bluegrass 674 East Main Street, Hendersonville, TN 37075
