David Junior Scholebo, Jr.'s Obituary
David "Junior" Scholebo, Jr., age 79. of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 3:12 a.m. in the loving arms of his family at his son, Jeff's home. Junior was born on March 3, 1929, in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to David and Nora (Gladson) Scholebo, Sr. He married Roberta I. Mathis and she preceded him in death. Junior was a member of the Nine Mile Baptist church, Pinckneyville, IL, was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War, worked as the produce manager at Pinckneyville IGA during the 1970's, and was a coalminer for Peabody Coal Company in Freeburg, IL, retiring after 19 ½ years. David was a Pinckneyville Panther fan, loved bowling and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by four sons: Jeff (Patty) Scholebo of Pinckneyville, IL, Mark (Shirlene) Scholebo of Nashville, IL, Terry (Sue) Scholebo of Elkville, IL and John (Donna) Scholebo of Pinckneyville, IL, 17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one sister-in-law: Mary "Polly" Scholebo of Santa Claus, IN He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sons: David Scholebo, III and Gary Scholebo, one grandson: Christopher Michael Scholebo, four brothers: Elmer, Joby, John and James and two sisters: Ernestine Mueller and Laura Lynch. Funeral services will be held at Nine Mile Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. with Brother Kevin Carrothers officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL, on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the church. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, Alzheimer's Foundation, Pancreatic Cancer Fund or the Diabetes Foundation.
