David Paul Kopshever's Obituary
David Paul Kopshever, 62, left this life on Wednesday May 4, 2022 at 1:24 pm, Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He was surrounded by his family.
David was born on June 24, 1959 in Pinckneyville, IL, the youngest of 5 sons to Edward D. and Dorothy J. (Kelly) Kopshever. He married Judy Craig on June 2, 1979 and she survives. They had 2 children, Kevin and Jennifer. He attended St. Bruno School until his parents moved to Los Angles, CA, where he graduated from Our Lady of Grace then went on to attend Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks. He moved back to Pinckneyville in 1975, graduating in 1977. After high school, he worked at Keene Roadbuilders until their closure. He then worked for 23 years at Streamline and Captain Mines where he had many adventures and made lots of friends. After the closure of the mines, he worked with his brothers reinforcing cell phone towers all across the east coast. He also worked for United Central in Herrin, IL until his health forced him to retire, much to his displeasure. David enjoyed golfing, watching his kids and grandkids sporting events, St. Louis Blues/Cardinals, Pinckneyville Panther Sports and was a huge Notre Dame Fighting Irish Football fan. Most knew to not bother him while the Irish were playing. His pride and joy were his kids, grandkids and grand dogs. His dry, witty sense of humor, sometimes inappropriate, always made us laugh and will be missed.
Survivors include the love of his life Judy Kopshever of Pinckneyville, IL; son, Kevin (Courtney) Kopshever of Waterloo, IL; daughter, Jennifer (Jarrod) Kreid of Elkville, IL; four grandchildren, Ty and Claire Kreid, Mya and Kaden Kopshever.
