David Edward Mohr's Obituary
David Edward Mohr, age 39, a long-time resident of Pinckneyville, IL, and a recent resident of Belleville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at 7:54 p.m. in St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, MO. David was born on November 8, 1966, in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to Russell Edward and Carolyn E. (Linstead) Mohr. He married Stephanie Griffin on December 4, 2004 in St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, IL and she survives. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ and served on the church council, member of Pyatt Community 4-H Club, Pinckneyville FFA, Perry County Young Farmers and Perry County Farm Bureau. He worked as a union plumber with Local 101 at Albern Plumbing Incorporated of Maryland Heights, MO. He was a farmer and owner of a heating and air conditioning company while in Pinckneyville and moved to Belleville after meeting his wife Stephanie in November of 2002. He immediately became a prominate figure in the Signal Hill Neighborhood, attending Rankin Technical Institute and graduating with honors and a 4.0 GPA average. He became involved with projects around the neighborhood helping neighbors with their home remodeling projects. David, a man of conscious and willingness to serve others without reward, joined the Signal Hill Fire Department and was always on alert to answer the call. He had many home projects, among them were the David E. Mohr Wine Cellars that went into private production in January 2004 supplying family and friends with a variety of delicious flavors. As his willingness to serve others in life, he also served them after death by being an organ and tissue donor. He is a true American hero who was loved by many family and friends. Survivors include his wife: Stephanie Griffin-Mohr of Belleville, IL, mother: Carolyn Mohr of Pinckneyville, IL, two sisters: Rose Tidwell and husband Chris of Ballwin, MO, and Judy Logsdon and husband David of Pinckneyville, IL, one nephew: Seth Logsden, one niece: Andrea Logsden, mother-in-law and father-in-law: Glenn and Patricia Griffin of Belleville, IL, one brother-in-law: Todd Griffin of Chicago, IL, and numerous aunts, uncles, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul United Church of Christ, 205 E. Jackson, Pinckneyville, IL on Saturday, April 15, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Cynthia Bean officiating. Interment will be in Galum Presbyterian Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, 309 S. Main, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday from 5:00 p.m. till 9:00 a.m. and on Saturday at St. Paul United Church of Christ from 8:00 a.m. until the time of services.
