David C. Bathon's Obituary
David C. Bathon, age 65, of Coulterville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at 8:15 a.m., in Coulterville Care Center, Coulterville, IL.
David was born on August 3, 1960 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to Francis and Marie (Loos) Bathon. David is a graduate of Pinckneyville Community High School and was a lifelong farmer. He attended St. Bruno Catholic Church in Pinckneyville, IL. David enjoyed cooking, hunting, tractor pulls, playing pinochle and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his eight siblings, James (Carolyn) Bathon of Coulterville, IL, Tom (Jeannie) Bathon of Pinckneyville, IL, Linda (Stanley) Grzygorek of Centralia, IL, Jane (Curt) Schuessler of Sparta, IL, Carolyn (Dave) Holder of Baldwin, IL, Barb (Bill) Griffin of Pinckneyville, IL, Roger (Judy) Bathon of Coulterville, IL, and Janet Bathon of Effingham, IL; one sister-in-law, Patricia Bathon of Pinckneyville, IL; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; many great nieces and great nephews; many good friends; and his best friend, Ike.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Marie Bathon; and one brother, Francis Bathon.
Memorial services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday, January 12, 2026 at 10:00 a.m., with Brother Tim McIntyre officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date.
Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and again on Monday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to Hit-N-Miss Foundation (a non-profit youth hunting organization).
