David Carl Baker's Obituary
David Carl Baker, age 54, of Swanwick, IL, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2017 as a result of an automobile accident in Perry County, IL. Dave was born on September 13, 1962 in Sparta, IL, a son to Joseph H. and Mabel M. "Dolly" (Shelledy) Baker, Sr. He married Lori True and to that union was born two children. David was a 1980 graduate of Pinckneyville Community High School, a meat cutter and later a coal miner at Peabody Coal. He was a member of Meat Cutters Local #534, V.F.W. Auxiliary Post #513 and the DuQuoin Elks. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and hunting arrowheads. He loved spending time with his family and friends grilling and hanging out at his lake house. He is survived by three sons, Sean Baker and Jeremiah True, both of Taylorville, IL and James Fleming of Georgia; one daughter, Courtney Baker of Taylorville, IL; two brothers, Robert W. (Kim) Baker of Makanda, IL and Joseph Baker Jr. (Kristina Jo Anheuser) of DuQuoin, IL; three sisters, Sharon L. (Lewis) Cooper of Swanwick, IL, Nancy A. (John) Vallino of Murphysboro, IL and Debra L. Chapman of DuQuoin, IL; one uncle, Wayne (Shirley) Shelledy of Las Vegas, NV; his bulldog, Isaac; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Tim McIntyre officiating. Interment will be at Swanwick Bethel Cemetery, Swanwick, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday at the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to Swanwick Bethel Cemetery, Swanwick, IL.
