Darlene F. Vuichard's Obituary
Darlene F. Vuichard, nee Philippe, age 68, of Coulterville, IL, lost her battle with T-Cell Leukemia and passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2020 at Barnes- Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO.
Darlene was born on June 11, 1951 in Chicago, IL, a daughter to Louis M. and Eleanor (Wojnicki) Philippe Jr. On August 7, 2005, she married the love of her life, Charles "Charlie" Vuichard and he survives. Darlene had a special interest on genealogy and loved researching her ancestors and visiting cemeteries. She also enjoyed playing cards, gardening, traveling and spending time with family and friends. She had a green thumb for growing house plants and was a great cook. Darlene was the past owner of the Sear's Appliance Store in DuQuoin, IL and Whaley's Bar and Grill in Coulterville, IL.
Survivors include her husband, Charles "Charlie" Vuichard of Coulterville, IL; sons, Michael Secoy of Perryville, MO, Victor (Nikkole) Whaley, Jr., Timothy (Miranda) Whaley and stepson, Dean (Debbie) Vuichard, all of Coulterville, IL; nine grandchildren, Stacey, Meranda, Aleah, Wyatt, Jacob, Josh, McKayla, Christine and Stormi; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Paula (Jerry) Bierman of Steeleville, IL, and Cheryl Philippe of Mascoutah, IL; close family members, Jerry and Barb Smith of San Antonio, TX; special nieces and nephews that she loved dearly; and several other friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Duane Philippe; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Chuck and June Vuichard; and special family member, Michael Walczak.
A private graveside service will be held at Coulterville City Cemetery, Coulterville, IL with Ron Mazander officiating.
Due to Covid-19 pandemic, there will be no visitation. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to the Grandcote Reformed Presbyterian Church, Coulterville, IL.
