Dane "Dawg" Caupert's Obituary
Dane "Dawg" Caupert, age 68, of Pinckneyville, IL went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 1, 2020 at 3:42 p.m. in St. John's Hospital, Springfield, IL.
Dane was born on December 12, 1951 in DuQuoin, IL, to Robert and Mary Ina (Carter) Breeding Caupert. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. on November 4, 1972, he married Debbie Smith in DuQuoin, IL. Dane was a prolific drummer and a creative artist who specialized in drawing and painting. He was passionate about being a volunteer for the Perry County Humane Society. Dane was well known for his sense of humor. He was loved by all his family, including his bandmates and animal loving family.
Survivors include his two daughters, Erica Caupert and Nicole Caupert, both of Swansea IL; a granddaughter, Dane's "Babygirl", Colee Caupert of Swansea IL; stepmom, Lois Caupert; four sisters, Ginger Johnson Fisher, Andrea Polisky, Phila Breeding, and Kelly Mullins; six nieces, Cinnamon Stark, Sumitha McCauley, Kelly Pierce, Kayla Mullins, Kara Mullins, and Alexa Callahan; three nephews, Joe Polisky, Luke Fresconi, and Frank Fresconi; one uncle, Everett Caupert; and two aunts, Laura Caupert and Glenna Thornton. He also had a lot of great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee "Cobb" Caupert and mother, Mary Ina Breeding.
A memorial service will be held at a later date with interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
