Cyrus L. Keller, Jr., age 95, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at 8:35 a.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital, Pinckneyville, IL. Cyrus was born on August 12, 1921 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to Cyrus L. and Geneva E. (Stanton) Keller, Sr. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II. He married Mildred Holman and she preceded him in death on December 6, 1948. On November 24, 1951, he married Iona A. Schwarz and she survives. Cyrus had worked as a garment cutter at the Garment Factory, Pinckneyville, IL and was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, Pinckneyville, IL. He was a lifetime member of the Pinckneyville V.F.W. Post #3959 and a member of the Presswood-Daffron American Legion Post #2504, Pinckneyville, IL. He loved to mow yards and do mechanic work. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Iona Keller of Pinckneyville, IL; a son, John (Phyllis) Keller of Springdale, AR; a sister, Lillian (Robert) Ritter of Pinckneyville, IL; four grandchildren, Marlow Leanne (Jason) Foshe, Mary Elizabeth (Ben) Bier, Melinda Ann Pierson and Martha May Keller; seven great-grandchildren, Dylan Cyrus Keller, Landon Foshe, Wesley Bier, Malea Foshe, Gavin Bier, Zachary Pierson and Mitchell Bier; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mildred Keller; a brother, George Keller; a sister, Nedra Smith; and infant twin siblings, Jack and Jill Keller. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday, July 7, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Sam Foskey officiating. Interment will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Military graveside rites by Presswood-Daffron American Legion Post #2504, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Children's Summer Food Program, Pinckneyville, IL.
