Curtis E. "John" Jones, age 66, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at 2:55 p.m. in his home. John was born on May 30, 1944, in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to Herbert Lee and Blanche Emily (Dunihoo) Jones. On February 4, 1995, he married Shirley Gale Kelley at their home and she survives. John was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served in Vietnam. He was a driver for Midwest Transit and an ordained Baptist minister. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. He especially loved spending time with his family and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Jonathan Jones of Elkville, IL and Paul Jones of Collinsville, IL; one stepson, Gerald (Brandi) Weeks of DuQuoin, IL; one stepdaughter, Elisha Dutton of Pinckneyville, IL; two sisters, Barbara Porter of Galatia, IL and Carrie (Cliff) Morgan of Ava, IL; fourteen grandchildren, Chad, Patrick, A.J., Lexie, John Curtis, Kaylee Lynn, Hayden Weeks, Brentyn Weeks, Cameron Weeks, Moriah Weeks, Ashtyn Weeks, Gavan Weeks, Rhiannon Kling, Levi Dutton, and Korbin Johnson; and special friend, Jerri Bechtlofft of Pinckneyville, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Carl Lee Jones; one grandson, Gage Jones; five sisters, Ivanell Sommers, Margurite Hardin, Jewell Lipe, Betty Lipe, and Patricia Ann Triefenbach; three brothers, Jerrel Jones, Herbert Jones, and Bill Dunihoo. Services will be private. Memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children.
