Crystal Kay Stanton's Obituary
Crystal Kay Stanton, age 54, of Baton Rouge, LA, formerly of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away at 6:29 a.m. on Monday, October 19, 2015 in The Hospice House of Baton Rouge, Baton Rouge, LA. October 19, 2015 seemed like any other day to most, but, for several families, their lives were forever changed. It was the day their shooting star came to the end of its blazing trail; the day the party lost its life; the day Crystal Kay Stanton surrendered to the peace that awaited her. From the beginning on March 3, 1961, she lived an adventurous life full of an eclectic assortment of activities including skiing, barrel racing and driving hours just to dance to live performances of countless bands including REM and the Grateful Dead. Crystal's laughter would infect any and all within ear shot until everyone around had sore stomachs and the love that radiated from her brown eyes could thaw the thickest glaciers of Antarctica. Looking back on a life absolutely lived to the fullest, God is probably saying, "What am I gonna do with you?" No doubt that Crystal's response is, "Just gonna have to kiss me and keep me!" Those who will now be missing Crystal include her father, Marvin Kuhnert and wife, Mary Catherine of Pinckneyville, IL; her sister, Tracy Kuhnert of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; her daughter, Brandi Weeks (Stanton) of Du Quoin, IL; her son-in-law, Gerald Weeks of Du Quoin, IL; her son, Jonathan Stanton of Centralia, IL; her grandchildren, William Stanton of Centralia, IL; Gavan Weeks, Ashtyn Weeks, Dylan Thornton, all of Du Quoin, IL; Haydon Weeks, Brentyn Weeks, Cameron Weeks and Moriah Weeks, all of Pinckneyville, IL; life partner, Doug Hester of Baton Rouge, LA; Genevieve Hester and Logan Hester of Pinckneyville, IL; as well as aunts, uncles and cousins. As she left this mortal coil, she surely met her husband, William Stanton of Centralia, IL and her mother, Nancy Kuhnert (Isaacs) of Pinckneyville, IL who both preceded her in death. A memorial service will be held at a later date and time. Memorial Donations may be made to the Hospice of Baton Rouge. Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL is in charge of arrangements.
