Connie Lee Hughes' Obituary
Connie Lee Hughes, age 59, of DuQuoin, IL, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. in Good Samaritan Hospital, Mt. Vernon, IL Connie was born on September 17, 1951 in Herrin, IL, a daughter to Reverend C. L. and Wilma D. (Cobb) McKinnies. She married Francis "Ed" Hughes on October 4, 1973 in Johnston City, IL and he survives. Connie was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church, DuQuoin, IL. She enjoyed cooking, flower arranging and crafting, but she dearly loved spending time with and caring for her family. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Connie is survived by her husband, Francis "Ed" Hughes of DuQuoin, IL; parents, Reverend C.L. and Wilma McKinnies of DuQuoin, IL; three daughters, Amy (Jim) Otto of DuQuoin, IL, Shelly (Gary) Aydelott of Ellettsville, IN, and Heather Hughes of DuQuoin, IL; one sister, LaVonna Kerley of DuQuoin, IL; three brothers, Chuck (Merla) McKinnies, David (Angie) McKinnies, and Pastor Dan (Karla) McKinnies, all of DuQuoin, IL; sister-in-law, Marsha McKinnies of Zeigler, IL; six grandchildren, Shayla, Paige, and Brianne Otto and Denver, Kaylee, and Garyn Aydelott; and many dear nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Reverend John McKinnies. Funeral services will be held at First United Pentecostal Church, DuQuoin, IL on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend C .L. McKinnies and Pastor Dan McKinnies officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, DuQuoin, IL. Friends may call at First United Pentecostal Church, DuQuoin, IL on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to First United Pentecostal Church, DuQuoin, IL. Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
