Colin Blayne Petty's Obituary
Colin Blayne Petty, age 24, of Pinckneyville, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2007 at 8:30 a.m. as a result of an automobile accident near Nashville, IL. Colin was born on February 8, 1983 in Carbondale, IL, a son to Reggie D. and Diane (Trexler) Petty. On September 22, 2005, he married Shari Lynn Stratton in Pinckneyville, IL and she survives. He was a correctional officer at Menard Correctional Center, Chester, a member of Perry County Democratic Party, loved to bow hunt, goose and duck hunt, enjoyed spending time with the "pensioners" at McDonalds and Dixie's restaurants, and was a wonderful dad to his daughter. Survivors include his wife: Shari Petty of Pinckneyville, infant daughter: Reese Blayne Petty, parents: Reggie and Diane Petty of Pinckneyville, maternal grandparents: Edgar and Roberta Trexler of Alto Pass, IL, brother: Mitchell and wife Meredith Petty of Evansville, IN, sister: Chelsea Dale Petty of Pinckneyville, aunt: Brenda and Jared Rumfelt of Alto Pass, IL, in-laws: Susan and John Stratton of Pinckneyville, and Stacy and Brant Sizemore of Pinckneyville, sister-in-law: Stevee Stratton of Pinckneyville, two nephews and two nieces. He was preceded in death by his Grandma and Grandpa Petty and Grandma Gearhart, and two uncles: Kevin Trexler and Joey Rumfelt. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville on Thursday, July 5, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Rick Hatley officiating. Interment will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Pinckneyville. Friends may call at Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 8:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to Reese Blayne Petty Educational Fund.
