Clarice Kathryn (Fike) Batson Clarice Kathryn (Fike) Batson, age 88, of Pinckneyville, formerly of DuQuoin, passed away Saturday March 18, 2006 at the home of her son. Clarice was born the daughter of Fred and Althea (Curnutt) Fike on February 15, 1918 in Coulterville, IL. She was married to Everett (Jake) Raymond Batson on November 27, 1937 in St. Louis, MO and he preceded her in death on August 11, 1975. Clarice was a member of the First United Methodist Church in DuQuoin. Survivors include two daughters Kay and Jim Boggs of Chesapeake, OH, and Debra Jean Smith of Kirkwood, MO, one son Alan and Linda Batson of Pinckneyville, IL one brother Wilbur ( Bill ) Fike of Maryville, IL, three sisters Dorothy Weis of Belleville, IL, Betty Clutts of Coulterville, IL, and Colleen Young of Maryville, IL. She is also survived by three grandchildren, James Todd (Jay) Boggs and wife Sue Ann, Jennifer Wright and husband Matt, Ryan Alan Batson and fiancé Jeni Kellerman, and two great grandchildren, Joshua Lane Wright and James Wyatt Boggs. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers G. Albert Fike, Thomas K. Fike, and Favre Fike, and one great grandson Noah Wright. Funeral services will be held on Monday March 20, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pyatt-Harrawood & Epplin Funeral Home in DuQuoin with Rev. Mike Ebersol officiating. Friends may call on Monday from 9:00 a.m. till the time of services. Interment will be held at the Sunset Memorial Park in DuQuoin. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the First United Methodist Church in DuQuoin and will be accepted at the funeral home.
