Clarence J. Bathon's Obituary
Clarence J. Bathon, age 89, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 10:40 a.m. in Fairview Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, DuQuoin, IL.
Clarence was born on October 17, 1932 in Perry County, IL, a son to Adam Albert and Mary Elizabeth (Buschschulte) Bathon. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean War and obtaining the rank of Sergeant. On July 11, 1970, he married Shirley Pace in St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL. She preceded him in death on March 24, 2007 after 36 years of marriage. He was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL and the N.R.A. Clarence enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
Survivors include his two stepsons, Anthony Wayne Fultz of Wisconsin and Jeff Fultz of Hawaii; a stepdaughter, Lori Ann Fultz of Kentucky; a sister, Barbara (Carl) Giacomo of Pinckneyville, IL; a brother-n-law, Wilbert Kellerman; a sister-in-law, Lavonne Bathon; several grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley Bathon; a stepson, Michael Fultz; two brothers, Albert Bathon and Joe Bathon; three sisters, Matilda Kellerman, Clara Brand and Bertha Bathon; and two brothers-in-law, Herman Brand and Eddie Brand.
Funeral services will be held at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. with Father Brian Barker officiating. Interment will be in St. Bruno Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL with graveside military rites by Presswood-Daffron American Legion Post #2504 and the United States Army.
Visitation will be at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The rosary will be recited at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Wednesday morning at 8:15 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Bruno School or St. Bruno Cemetery.
Covid-19 mandates will be adhered to.
