Clarence "Chuck" Spangenberg's Obituary
Clarence Holmes "Chuck" Spangenberg, age 90, of Coulterville, IL, passed away on Saturday January 7, 2017 at 5:57 p.m. in Pinckneyville Nursing and Rehab Center, Pinckneyville, IL. Chuck was born on July 19, 1926 in Newark, NJ, a son to Leon and Alberta (Holmes) Spangenberg. On July 7, 1981, he married Pandora "Pandy" Hutchings at St Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, IL and she survives. He was a veteran of the United States Navy in WWII. Chuck was a maintenance worker at Nascote for 20 years, had his own dairy business and farmed. Before moving to Illinois, he owned a body shop in Florida and New Jersey. He was of Protestant faith and enjoyed auctions and tinkering. Survivors include his wife, Pandy Spangenberg of Coulterville, IL; two sons, Leon (Christy) Spangenberg of New Baden, IL and James (Lisa) Spangenberg of Quincy, IL; one step-son, Bobby Hutchings of Pinckneyville, IL; two step-daughters, Cathy Miller of Nashville, IL and Theresa (Jeril) Heine of Pinckneyville, IL; five grandchildren, Kevin, Shala, Melissa, Julia and Isaac; and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral service will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home in Pinckneyville, IL on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Rob Mathis officiating. Military rites will be performed by Presswood-Daffron American Legion Post #2504, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project.
