Clarence William Birkner's Obituary
Clarence William Birkner, age 94 of St. Louis, MO, formerly of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2011 in St. Anthony's Hospital, St. Louis, MO. Clarence was born on September 30, 1916, a son to Edward P. and Charlotte J. (Loos) Birkner. Clarence spent all of his young life as a farmer and night watchman. The last thirty years of his life was spent living in St. Louis, MO with his sister. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, IL, Gardenville Cache Masonic Lodge655, Gardenville Chapter 513 Eastern Star, and Friendship Chapter #214 Eastern Star. Clarence is survived by two sisters, Opal Long of St. Louis, MO and Verna Boucher of Springfield, IL; three brothers, Orville Birkner of Clinton, IA, Carl Birkner of Springfield, IL, and Harry (Marilyn) Birkner of Colorado Springs, CO; two sister-in-laws, Belva Birkner and Ann Birkner; three nieces, Clydine (Larry) Hardin, Connie (Raymond) Ramsey, all of Pinckneyville, IL, and Debbie Birkner of Glendale, AZ; four nephews, John (Joy) Birkner of Columbus, OH, Douglas (Paige) Birkner of Colorado Springs, CO, Kenton (Jan) Boucher and Bradley (Kelli) Boucher all of Springfield, IL; many great nieces and great nephews; great-great nieces and great-great nephews; and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Wilma and Ina; and three brothers, Russell, Clyde, and Richard. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday, October 14, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Cindy Bean and Reverend John Birkner officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at St. Paul United Church of Christ from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ. Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
