Cindy Crain Szarek's Obituary
Cindy Crain Szarek, age 64, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at 4:18 a.m. in Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO. Cindy was born on October 18, 1946 in DuQuoin, IL, a daughter to Earl Dean "Red" and Marie (Beck) Crain, Sr. On February 17, 1969, she married Dennis R. Szarek in St. Bruno's Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL and he survives. Cindy was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church, Pinckneyville, IL where she taught Sunday school, Vacation Bible School, and sang in the church choir as young woman. She was a loyal Pinckneyville Panther's Basketball Fan. Cindy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and especially enjoyed working alongside her husband, Dennis, on the family farm. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her. Cindy is survived by her husband, Dennis R. Szarek; one daughter, Diana "Dee Dee" (Raymond) Baudison; one grandson, Bradley Baudison; one brother, Dean "Skip" (Cathy) Crain, Jr. all of Pinckneyville, IL; one sister, Barb (Jerry) Davidson of Belleville, IL; one niece, Melissa (Barry) Kellerman of Pinckneyville, IL; a dear aunt, LaJoy (Earl) Downs of Waterloo, IL; cousins, Patty Lyons Miller, Jon Graskewicz, Michael Downs, Stephanie Downs Brandt, Julie Downs, and Lisa Downs Thibeault; and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Dean "Red" and Marie (Beck) Crain; maternal grandparents, Edward F. and Bertha (Mayer) Beck; and paternal grandparents, Earl and Mildred (Lutz) Crain. Funeral services will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Randall Moritz officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church.
