Charles R. "Chuck" Ginn's Obituary
Charles R. "Chuck" Ginn, age 83, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2012 at 3:09 a.m. at his home surrounded by his family. Chuck was born on February 10, 1929 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to Robert and Ella (Houghland) Ginn. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War. On August 11, 1951, he married Marjorie E. Cowley in Paragould, Arkansas, and she survives. He was a rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and retired after 32 years of service. He then drove a school bus for Pinckneyville High School for 17 years. Chuck was a member of Holt's Prairie Baptist Church, and enjoyed bird watching and gardening. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie E. Ginn of Pinckneyville, IL; two sons, Steven Ginn and Dennis (Amy) Ginn all of Pinckneyville, IL; three grandchildren, Kristen, Sydney, and Kelsey Ginn. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, R. J. Ginn; three sisters, Gladys Burack, Bernice Ryan, and Sally Ginn. Funeral services will be held at Holt's Prairie Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday, November 26, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Collin Hirsch officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Sunday, November 25, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., then at Holts Prairie Baptist Church on Monday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to Holts Prairie Baptist Church. Military Graveside Rites will be performed by the Presswood-Daffron American Legion Post #2504.
