Charles Lucas Evans' Obituary
Charles Lucas Evans, age 23, of DuQuoin, IL, formerly of Vergennes, IL, passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 11:24 p.m. from injuries he sustained as the result of a car accident on September 20, 2011, in his parents' home surrounded by his loving family. Lucas was born on March 14, 1989 in DuQuoin, IL, a son to Charles and Sherida (Boggis) Evans. He married April Brooks of Vergennes, IL on June 25, 2011 and she survives. Lucas was a May 2011 graduate of the SIU College of Engineering. After graduation, he joined the family business, DMS Welding & Machine. He was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church of DuQuoin, IL, where he and April served as Youth Leaders and was a volunteer fireman for the Vergennes Fire Department for a short time. Lucas was a loving and fun husband, son and uncle and will be greatly missed by those who knew him. Lucas is survived by his wife, April Evans of DuQuoin, IL; parents, Chuck and Sherry Evans, of Vergennes, IL; two sisters, Courtney Evans of Lake St. Louis, MO and Jaymee (Rick) McKinnies of DuQuoin, IL; nephew and niece, Brayden and Aubrey McKinnies of DuQuoin, IL; grandparents, Carolyn Evans of Vergennes, IL, Nila Tanner of Carbondale, IL, and Richard and Lennis Boggis of Tucson, AZ; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles C. Evans. Funeral services will be held at the First United Pentecostal Church, DuQuoin, IL on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Dan McKinnies, Reverend C.L. McKinnies, and Reverend Steven D. Evans officiating. Interment will be in Parrish Cemetery, Vergennes, IL. Friends may call at First United Pentecostal Church, DuQuoin, IL on Saturday, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the First United Pentecostal Church Youth Department or the Education Assistance Fund for April Evans. Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
