Charles "Chuck" Glazier's Obituary
Charles "Chuck" Glazier, age 65, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2019 at 8:25 a.m. in SIH Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, Carbondale, IL.
Chuck was born on July 12, 1954 in Ladysmith, WI, a son to Florence DeGarmo. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army where he had worked as a recruiter. After he retired from the Army, he had worked at the Illinois Department of Corrections as a corrections officer. Chuck was a member of the Concord Baptist Church, Concord, IL, the Free Masons and Moose Lodge, Pinckneyville, IL, active in the Boy Scouts as a leader, loved hunting, fishing, camping, boating and anything outdoors and loved his grandchildren.
Survivors include his mother, Florence Glazier of Florida; two daughters, Marie (Louis) Dickerson of Chester, IL and Jessie (Phillip) Farris of Bethany, WV; two sons, Augustas (Cindy) Glazier of Portsmouth, VA and James Glazier of Pinckneyville, IL; a brother, George Glazier of Florida; two sisters, Karen Estry of Florida and Luci (Gordon) Wilder of Florida; seven granddaughters; a grandson; and numerous other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Penny Thomas.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL have been entrusted with arrangements.
