Carol T. Stern's Obituary
Carol T. Stern, age 90, of Oakdale, IL, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at 2:28 a.m. in Coulterville Care Center, Coulterville, IL. Carol was born on July 12, 1918 in Rice, IL, a son to Nicholas and Nellie (Frye) Stern. He married Belle Lamm on September 29, 1945 in Norfolk, W.V. and she survives. Carol was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Nashville, IL, a veteran of the United States Navy, a farmer and was a mill worker for Agra Pride retiring after 20 years. He loved to work and was a lifelong resident of Washington County, IL. He is survived by his wife: Belle Stern of Oakdale, IL, one daughter: Judy (Jerome) Buss of Oakdale, IL, two grandchildren: Michael (Janice) Buss of Oakdale, IL and Kristie (Jim) Panacopoulos of Mascoutah, IL, three great-grandchildren: Ethan, Cody and Kaleigh Buss, one brother: Leo (Elanore) Stern of Oakdale, IL, and two sisters: Vera (John) Aepworth of Okawville, IL, and Dean (Robert) Huff of Oakdale, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven sisters: Isabelle, Virginia and Mary Jane (all in infancy), Opal Stern, Ruby Davis, Annabelle Lamar and Lorraine Musielak, and one brother: Alfred Stern. Funeral services will be held at St. Ann Catholic Church, Nashville, IL on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at 11:00 a.m with Father Andy Knopic officiating. Interment will be in St. Ann Cemetery. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Oakdale, IL on Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. Memorial may be made in the form of Masses or Donors Choice.
