Carol Kay Hull's Obituary
Carol Kay Hull, age 79, of Chesterfield, MO, formerly of Pinckneyville, IL and DuQuoin, IL, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at 4:25 a.m. in her home after a lengthy illness due to cancer.
Carol was born on September 25, 1939 in Bloomingdale, IN, a daughter of John Murray and Maxine (Teeter) Evans. She married Glendel "Glen" Ray Hull on March 20, 1960 in Bloomingdale, IN and he preceded her in death on February 23, 2016 after 55 years of marriage. Carol attended Indiana State University, Terre Haute, IN and earned her Associate's Degree. After moving to Illinois, in addition to being a full time mother, she worked as a payroll specialist for Consolidated Coal Company and later worked for the Illinois Department of Human Services. Carol was loved by many and was often described as a very sweet woman with a mild demeanor. She enjoyed playing the piano, especially for the children at her church, and was an avid watcher of the Hallmark Channel. Carol was a member of the Republican Women's Committee, Jr. Women's Club, and First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL.
Survivors include her two sons, Dr. Steven (Pam) Hull, M.D. of Lake Quivira, KS and Gary (Christine) Hull of Tarpon Springs, FL; her daughter, Tonya Hull of St. Charles, MO; two grandchildren, Hayden Hull of Leawood, KS and Katherine Hull of Leawood, KS; two sisters, Judy (Dr. David) Eichenauer of West Lafayette, IN and Jane (Vince) Poisella of Little Egg Harbor, NJ; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was especially close to her lifelong friend, Karen White of Rockville, IN, and her friend and neighbor, Marlene Kellerman of DuQuoin, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Glen.
Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Rob Mathis officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, DuQuoin, IL.
Visitation will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
