Carol Heisner's Obituary
Carol Heisner, age 86, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024 at 6:35 a.m., in Herrin Hospital, Herrin, IL.
Carol was born on December 29,1937 in Pinckneyville, IL, a daughter to Neil and Alice Louise (Knapp) Cunningham. On September 14, 1957, she married Kirwan Heisner in Pinckneyville, IL and together they had two children, Michelle and Kyle. He preceded her in death on September 18, 2001. She was a member of Beaucoup Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL. Carol had worked as an LPN at Pinckneyville Community Hospital for 18 years, including in the Skilled Care Unit. Once Skilled Care closed, she worked at Manor at Mason Woods for 6 years. She was a member of the Junior Women's Club, Pinckneyville, IL. Her greatest joys in life came from her nursing career and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Kyle Heisner of Austin, TX; a daughter, Michelle (David) Kimmel of Benton, IL; her brother, Ted (Cathy) Cunningham of Pinckneyville, IL; six grandchildren, Megan (Dustin) Warder, J. Neil (Lindsey) Atkins, Zachary (Chalet) Atkins, Holly (Nate) Wilburn, Jonathan Heisner, and Allison Nicole (Roger) Flier; eleven great-grandchildren, Nicolas and Halle Warder; Lila, Vivian, Mara and Eloise Atkins; Tindall, Freese, and Livie Atkins; and Hadley and Hayden Wilburn; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Betty Steele and Eleanor Cunningham; and a niece, Kristin Cunningham.
Funeral services will be held at Beaucoup Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at 11:00 a.m., with Brother Mark Lee officiating. Interment will be at Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
Visitation will be at Beaucoup Baptist Church, Pinckneyvillle, IL on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to Leukemia Research Foundation.
