Carl W. Mohr's Obituary
Carl W. Mohr, age 87, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at 1:10 a.m., in his home.
Carl was born on November 27, 1933 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to Edward P. and Emma (Walkenhorst) Mohr. On December 17, 1954, he married Mary Ann Fuller in Mississippi and she preceded him in death on August 31, 2018 after 64 years of marriage. He was of the Christian faith. In his lifetime, he had worked as a truck driver for Rohn Manufacturing, Peoria, IL and then for Twin County FS. He was best known for his upholstering skills and owned and operated Mohr's Upholstery, Pinckneyville, IL for over 45 years. Carl enjoyed fishing, camping and gardening and especially loved traveling to see his family.
Survivors include his five children, Carla (Jerry) Bruns of Pinckneyville, IL, Mark Mohr of Pinckneyville, IL, Randy (Laurie) Mohr of Nashville, IL, Sherry (Kevin) Johnson of Mary Esther, FL, and Susan (Donnie) Dasher of Pinckneyville, IL; a brother, Robert Mohr of Cutler, IL; three sisters, Deloris Bender of Pinckneyville, IL, Mary (Charles) Greer of Pinckneyville, IL, and Emma Jean (Terry) Johnson of Coulterville, IL; two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Mohr of Pinckneyville, IL, and Pat Mohr of Murphysboro, IL; fifteen grandchildren, Jennifer (Andrew) Walker, Pamela Mohr, Jonathan Bruns, Matt Mohr, Ashley (Cody) Zoller, Miranda (Gordon) Hutchins, Collin (Allison) Dasher, Alyssa (Mallory) Bruns, Michaela Mohr, Levi Mohr, Edward (Sydney) Johnson, Tiger Gillespie, Brooke (Marshall) Bell, Zachary Dasher, and Lindsey Dasher; twenty great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Ann Mohr; a daughter-in-law, Victoria Mohr; two brothers, Russell Mohr and Edward Dean Mohr; four sisters, Laura Epplin, Betty Brostmeyer, Martha Kendrick, and Dorothy Storz.
Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Jason Eisele officiating. Interment will be in Galum Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
Visitation will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to Maple Creek Hospice, Sparta, IL.
